As a lifelong dancer and movement enthusiast, Sarajane studied and performed locally with NACRE Dance, Dance Eclectic, YDC, Berkshire Ballet and Maude Baum & Co as well as performed in local theater with NYSTI, Park Playhouse, Steamer 10 and many others. She was fortunate enough to train in NYC at Marymount Manhattan College and with the renowned Martha Graham Dance Company as well as perform pieces by dance greats Isadora Duncan, Anna Sokolow, and Doris Humphrey. She was introduced to Pilates at a young age and always found it to be a great way to keep her body aligned and to help her recover from myriad dance and work related injuries. She completed her Beginner/Intermediate Mat Certification in 2014 as a fun way to keep fit and help others feel good in their bodies. In 2015, after 13 years in a corporate position in Real Estate Management, she left to complete her Comprehensive Apparatus and Advanced Series Certification and subsequently opened her own studio, Sarajane Leary Pilates which is located in Albany, NY. She is thrilled to be teaching dance again and can’t wait to share her love of dance and movement with her students.
